FAQ

Frequently asked questions:

1. What does FACEE stand for?

It is the Fellowship of the Academic College of the Emergency Experts in India. (ACEE-INDIA))

2. What is the Role of ACEE-INDIA?

MCI has recognized Emergency Medicine as a specialty and has allowed Medical colleges to initiate the creation of Academic Departments of Emergency Medicine which will lay the ground work to begin MCI recognized residency training programs (MD –EMERGENCY MEDICINE). EM is a new Science to India. As a science EM is a collage of all disciplines as it is targeting towards addressing acute issues across existing faculties of medicine and surgery including pediatrics, anesthesia, orthopedics, OB-GYN, psychiatry and pulmonology. This leaves EM with no parent discipline as no discipline is immune from the concept of Emergencies related to their discipline.

This fact is both a challenge and an opportunity because we will need trained teachers which can be drawn from any discipline but these teachers will need to be brought to speed about Emergency Knowledge from other disciplines. Example a Orthopedician wanting to teach EM will have to learn EKG, management of Myocardial infarction etc.

To facilitate this process and award identity ACEE-INDIA is being founded with the Fellowship acting as a identity to create an Elite Group of Pioneers who have gone through the process of Learned Learning qualifying to be Academic Leaders in Teaching, Researching, Innovating and Treating at Academic Training Medical Colleges and Departments of Emergency Medicine.

3. Is it Mandatory that every teacher in Upcoming MCI Recognized Emergency Medicine Department Based Residency (MD) program be FACEE?

ACEE-INDIA thrives to be an Elite Group of pioneers who believe in the art of academic emergency medicine and are committed to innovation research and education in acute care. It is an independent Elite Forum of Experts who are recognized because of their commitment and who have been qualified through a process laid by the framework of their Platform which is their college (ACEE-INDIA). Fellowship of ACEE is highly recommended for developing and growing this new academic discipline in India.
